Mt. Moriah Christian School believes in the importance of “paying it forward”. Each month every class is required to complete a service project for others. As a school we also participate in several large projects each year. We have collected thousands of dollars for: The American Heart Association, the Heifer Project, Samaritan’s Purse Heart Program and other local missions over the last several years. Hundreds of food products have been collected for local shelters, loads of slightly used clothing have been collected for needy families and burned out families in our community, hundreds of blankets have been made for Ruby Hospital, West Penn Hospital, and the Caring Place. We are committed to supporting our local nursing homes with cards and gifts, our local VFD, servicemen in Iraq, veterans, and Meals on Wheels yearly.
Our current mission projects are Lind-A Hand and the Ronald McDonald House. See below for more information.
Our school believes that we need to encourage children to have a heart for others. It is not unusual for the students to elect to collect specific items for others at Christmas rather than have a gift exchange or to bring in their gifted “birthday money” to give to a project for which we are collecting. When there is a need in the community, our school tries their best to help.
“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Lind-A-Hand is a non-profit organization that donates 100% of all donations to the children and families of Banner Thunderbird Pediatrics Department. The Lind-A-Hand project was started by Linda’s children, Shannon and Brooke. Linda was a very happy and caring individual who often provided items of comfort to patients admitted to the hospital. Many families face adversity and difficulty in obtaining prescriptions, diapers, formula, and more during their hospital stay. This organization assists with those such items. The organization is committed to making a difference one child at a time, and your help is appreciated!

MMCS is continuing to support the new Ronald McDonald House in Morgantown by collecting pop tabs. The Ronald McDonald House was created to help ease some of the financial and personal burdens of families caring for a sick child in the hospital. It allows families to stay together when they need to most.
